When I was a kid, my gong gong treated our large family to many Chinese banquet-style dinners and I never cared for them. My tastes have very much evolved since then, but I have to say, PPQ's menu easily dispelled any lackluster childhood memories of mediocre food. The star of the show was hands down the five spice chicken and I would LOVE to stop by for it again on my next trip to San Francisco. It was everything you could want your chicken to be- perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside with incredible flavor. I couldn't get enough. Everything else was very good, the crab dishes, fish, beef, green beans, garlic noodles, papaya salad, imperial rolls. No complaints other than that dessert could be improved. It may have been fried bananas and mango and coconut ice cream served family style. We were seated in their upstairs dining area with two tables by the front window. The atmosphere was very nice and private and we were able to comfortably get a little louder as a group. The service was fine and the food came quickly and continuously to the table. I just wish I had taken pictures of the food!

We wanted Dungeoness crab so we came here! $69 for crab and you can choose from several ways to get it: traditional house, peppercorn, roasted (garlic), and more. We liked the peppercorn it has a nice kick and crispy. The roasted is good as it comes very fast with enough garlic butter "juice" for your noodles! The salted yolk tofu is also superb with nice creamy salty exterior complementing the soft tofu center. The staff are fast and quick to pick up your empties . We parked free on the street after the meters stopped collecting.

Hands down the garlic noodles with the Dungeness crab and house sauce was the best. It was a bit more spicy, but well worth the price. Service was good and standard. It was a traditional Chinese style restaurant, nothing fancy with the Walmart qualify table and chair, but the food was good and worth the experience!! I would go there weekly if I could afford it.

Came here for happy hour and got the salted egg tofu, calamari, and oysters. We also got the soft shell crab from the regular menu. My favorite had to be the oysters. The soft shell crab was ok, I probably wouldn't order it again. It was two tiny crabs and it just tasted like fried crab--nothing really special. I usually really enjoy salted egg yolk flavored things but this one tasted like artificial cheese. The tofu was soft and gave a nice contradicting texture to the fried outside shell, but again the flavor wasn't ideal. The calamari was nice, I wish it was hotter--temperature wise. Don't bust out your laptop because there is no wifi. Great service--the staff is really attentive and quick. Additional pluses: The food comes out really quickly. They also pack your food for you.

Where to get crab when you can't get it from 99 ranch and make it at home?? I've heard amazing things about the PPQ in Millbrae and decided to go to the SF location since it's much closer to me. It wasn't that busy when I went, but there was def a lot of big Asian families around me that it felt like home. I ordered the Garlic steamed crab and ate my entire crab without sharing. It was fresh, it was garlicy, and it fixed my cravings. I also ordered the garlic noodles and salty egg tofu. You need the noodles with the crab! Everything is yum but the price point makes me wish crab season was all season so I can just be cheap and buy at home. But since life doesn't always give me what I want, PPQ will do during off seasons!

Asian restaurant with a focus on crabs and seafood, on Geary Blvd in the Richmond area of SF. First floor is not that big, but they also have seating on the 2nd floor of the building. Some of the servers spoke Cantonese, and the menu has English and Chinese. Ordered their 2 person Dungeness crab combo for $99. This included some pork spring rolls and chicken salad as starters. Both tasted decent. The main course is one whole Dungeness crab, roasted in butter, along with a bowl of garlic noodles. Crab is restaurant quality and meaty, and the butter sauce it's covered in is tasty. The butter sauce also mixes well with the garlic noodles. Finally, there is dessert which is fried bananas served with some mango ice cream, and both tasted fine. Definitely enough food for two people as we didn't finish starters and noodles. Obviously not cheap but Dungeness crab is expensive these days.

I had came up to the Bay to visit my grandmother for her 85th? birthday end of this Jan 2024. I had made a reservation for 4 people at PPQ weeks prior through yelp for 7pm on a Monday night. 1-2 days before, I had found out there was going to be 5 people instead but easily changed my reservation online. We had arrived right on time. They were able to guess who I was upon entry but was told to wait a little bit. After waiting 5 minutes, they decided to just open up upstairs for us so we didn't have to wait (we ended up having upstairs to ourselves all night, was like a private VIP experience where we bought out the restaurant. Hehe... Prior to coming here, I had already planned on getting the LOBSTER AND CRAB DINNER FOR 6 at $329 (mainly because i wanted to try everything). I even added a PEPPERCORN SHORT-RIBS because my grandmother loved beef short ribs. The dinner includes IMPERIAL ROLLS, PAPAYA SALAD W BEEF, SPICY HOUSE LOBSTER, ROASTED CRAB, FIVE SPICES CHICKEN, STEAMED SEA BASS, BRAISED STRING BEANS, HOUSE GARLIC NOODLES, FBI (is this the dessert? if it is, then its mango and coconut ice cream with deep fried bananas) I had asked to change the SPICY HOUSE LOBSTER to CHILI LOBSTER meanwhile the ROASTED CRAB to PEPPERCORN CRAB. My family aren't much fans for "roasted" or seemingly steamed crab so i changed it up. Food came out gradually. Before we knew it, our table was covered with food. IMPERIAL ROLLS were like a viet egg roll, except instead of using egg roll wrapper, looked like they may have used rice paper (similar to spring rolls maybe?) and deep fried it. Had a nice taro aroma to it too. Delicious ! PAPAYA SALAD WITH BEEF with nice and refreshing. A big mountain of fresh shaved young papaya topped with fried onions and pieces of beef spread throughout. Definitely needed for all the fried/flavor-packed items to come ! FIVE SPICES CHICKEN looked amazing. Crispy skin. Nice seasoning. But unfortunately, it was like the "least favorite" item of the meal. Not because it was bad, but it wasn't as good as the others LOL. STEAMED SEA BASS was nice and fatty. Big chunks of meat but probably the "smallest" dish of the meal. Simply prepared with a light, sweet soy sauce. HOUSE GARLIC NOODLES came in a huge bowl. Deliciously garlicly. Decently thick noodles. Simple garlic noods. What can I say? CHILI LOBSTER was absolutely delicious. Pretty decent sized lobster. Deep fried. Covered in the dry CHILI seasoning. Decently spicy. Still was tolerable by the auntie who didn't really eat spice. Grandma's favorite ! PEPPERCORN CRAB. Also absolutely delicious. Deep fried crab with minced fried garlic. BRAISED STRING BEANS is like the normal dry-fried green beans at other restaurants. maybe made with XO sometimes. Their version used pickled mustard? I personally liked this variation. Maybe cus im bored of the other one. PEPPERCORN SHORT-RIBS was specifically ordered for my grandmother who i had recently found out, was in love with short-ribs lately. Same seasoning as the crab (oops... should've had the crab in a different flavor). Very tender. Grandma also really liked this ! Then finally dessert. Menu says FBI (unsure what that stands for, maybe fried banana & ice cream? lol) but it was 2 balls of mango ice cream with 1 ball of coconut ice cream, and many "balls" of deep fried banana. Was a nice end to the meal. Everyone actually liked this as well ! Service was really good. I'm not sure if it was because who served us was ONLY serving us upstairs. It was nice to have the entire upstairs to ourselves even though it was not planned that way. Unexpectedly had a nice, private dinner. Very quiet since it was just us, but it didn't seem that loud downstairs while we were waiting initially. Would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. Priced not that bad for the amount of food. Grandma was happy so it was well worth it. Everything was prepared pretty well and was delicious. Not really any complaints about anything.

First time trying here and my family loved it! We had a party of 5 and ended up ordering the combo for 6 people. Came with 2 crabs, string beans, garlic noodles, chicken, sea bass, salad, and spring rolls. The crab was rich and flavorful! Sea bass was also fresh! Came on a Saturday so parking was a bit difficult but definitely something to try whenever you're craving seafood!
